Be Relentless!

This is video was simultaneously shared with me by Beth Taflinger, a wonderful parent volunteer going all the way back to my first principalship in 2002, and by Sheila Evans, a wonderful principal I currently work with.

The video features Principal Hamish Brewer and his unorthodox, yet successful approach to the principalship.

As leaders, not one of us can be Hamish Brewer. We cannot lead the way he does because it would not be authentic. Students and staff see through "fake" quickly. That does not mean that we cannot be this successful or that we cannot take leadership lessons from Mr. Brewer's example.

We can be the best us we can be. We can motivate, inspire and relentlessly push our students and staff.

We can join Mr. Brewer in his quest to question how we educate children and then be courageous enough to challenge the status quo.

We can be relentless!
